Why I am Running
People who know me since college know of my commitment to family and to my patients. They also know of my commitment and active participation in politics.
Being a healthcare provider has given me the opportunity to reach out and help a part of my community. I help my community by providing good care and sometimes at no charge to many who could not effort to pay. I have supported, contributed, organized, and participated in political campaigns for local, state and federal elections. These include the honorable Mayor of Riverside, Ron Loveridge. Senator Diane Feinstein, Senator Barbara Boxer and President Bill Clinton. I recently held a fundraiser for Sen. Hillary Clinton.
I grew up and did my schooling in Imperial Valley. I attended College in Riverside County and professional school in Loma Linda, San Bernardino County. In a way, I have never left the 80th district in my 43 years of life. I currently have businesses in both Imperial and Riverside Counties.
I am ready to put in long, arduous work hours for my district and for my State of California. I look forward to working with State senators and state assemblymen. I will work with county supervisors, city councilmen and the mayors. As a Dentist I am limited in what I can do, but as an assemblyman. I will be of greater service to my community and the State of California.
With the current California budget crises it is almost amazing anyone is running.
I am a Democrat running for state assembly because our future is too important to be left to politicians. We need leaders that will work at representing us, the people, not politicians looking to be part of the system. I will work hard so that our state leads the nation in healthcare, environment, education and the overall quality of life. It is time to take back our government. My campaign will ensure that decision-making in Sacramento is guided by principles, not by politicians as usual. Born and raised in Imperial Valley, I understand the issues our community faces. As a graduate of local schools, I know our educational system. As a local leader, I have proven to have innovative and workable solutions. I have the qualifications and vision to bring people together. As your next Assembly Member, I will continue to reach out to our community and listen to your needs. I will move forward with policies to make Coachella and Imperial Valleys the best places to live, work, raise a family and retire.
